Import Costs from USA & Buying Conditions:
In advance:
The cost of the vehicle & shipping to your nearest commercial port.
When the vehicle arrives in your country:
Although Europe is supposed to have the same import regulations, we still find that some countries treat classic cars differently when it comes to import taxes payable when the car arrives in port. Before the purchase of a car we recommend that you contact a local customs office to check what taxes, if any, there will be to pay.
The customs agents in the port will handle disembarcation, customs documentation and vehicle storage. The cost for this can vary between 300 - 500euros.
Historic Registration:
We ensure that the car you buy comes with a clear original Title (USA registration document) & an original Bill of Sale from the USA seller. With these documents, along with the customs documents received in your own country you will be able to register the car for use on the road. Again, different countries have different historic registration policies & costs. It is worth checking this out in advance
Buying Conditions:
If you want to continue with the purchase of a classic car we need to have a confirmation of your order by e.mail, a copy of your passport or national ID card, name, address & telephone numbers. When we have this information we will then reserve the car for you and send a purchase contract for your signature. The purchase contract contains full details of the car, colour & vehicle identification number (VIN). It will then be necessary to pay the full cost of the car & shipping by bank transfer to our account within five days of receiving the contract in order to maintain the reservation.
When this is done we will then pay the owner by international bank transfer & organise the shipping of the vehicle to your country. All documentation involved with the purchase of the car will be put directly into your name as this will make registration of the vehicle much easier.
From the time of payment it normally takes between 6 - 8 weeks for the car to arrive in a European port.
Guarantees:
Classic cars do not carry guarantees, but we do only deal with trusted professionals and established classic car dealers, never with private individuals. The descriptions of the cars in our website are as accurate as possible & the buyer does have the option of arranging a technical inspection prior to purchase. |
